Reduce, Reuse and RecycleBayern Brewing is now the first Montana brewery to reuse and/or recycle its entire bottle packaging. For over a year, Bayern has been buying back our 6-pack carriers in good (reusable) condition in our tasting room for 10¢ cash or 15¢ for trade-in value for beer or merchandise. Now, with an aim to keep even more of our packaging out of the landfill, Bayern is also recycling ONLY OUR glass bottles. Help us in our attempts to "go green" by bringing all your Bayern bottle packaging to the brewery tasting room, located at 1507 Montana Street in Missoula. For more information, read the Special Recycling Edition of the Bayern Brewsletter. You Can Have a Face Plant Anywhere!Face Plant Doppelweizen is now being offered in bottles! To learn more, see the Face Plant page in our Beers Section, or read our Winter 2009 Brewsletter. Bayern Hosts Fundraiser to Celebrate the One Millionth Dancing Trout Bottle Sold! The celebration was held August 9, at McCormick Park in Missoula. People drank beer, helped save trout and their habitat, and won great raffle prizes. Proceeds benefited Montana Trout Unlimited. The event included music, food, beer and raffle items from fly shops and sporting good stores. Helping Preserve Montana’s Trout habitat one beer at a time - Bayern Brewing’s Dancing Trout Ale - the ONLY Montana-brewed beer helping to protect our rivers and streams – and that’s no fish story. Bayern Wins Two Awards at 2009 Garden City Brewfest
Bayern's brewers all had a great time at the brewfest and enjoyed chatting with some of the other brewers around the region. We also wish to thank the judges, the MDA and other organizers, volunteers and the Missoula community in general for what has become one of the best celebrations of microbrews in Montana. It seems that attendees enjoyed the ceremonial way the Bavarians like to "get the party started" since the wooden barrel we tapped was emptied in less than 40 minutes. Beer out of a wooden barrel is slightly less corbonated since it can't be hooked up to CO2 like a regular keg, but the dramatic gush of beer that occurs during the tapping, the flavor and the presentation by our two German Master Brewers in lederhosen is about as unique as the authentic Bavarian beer Bayern Brewing provides for Northwest USA. In April 2009, Bayern Brewing rolled out the first-ever six-packs of Dragon's Breath Dark Heff and you can find them in stores now! For other news, check out our Brewsletter archive! |
